LOLA BROOKS

FOR CCSD trustee, District E

Lola Brooks Family.jpg

Trustee Lola Brooks (District E), the current president of the board, is the only incumbent seeking reelection this cycle. Brooks, incidentally, has often also been the only adult in the room these past few years as our Trustees have grappled with those tough decisions. Her steady leadership and experience is invaluable on the board. Amid chaos, Brooks keeps her cool and stays focused on what needs to be done. Her opponent, by contrast, is a populist in the worst sense of the word. The last thing we need in CCSD is more grandstanding, narcissism, and shameless self-promotion from our Trustees. If you’ve been paying attention at all the past few years, you know we have more than enough of that already.

Lola Brooks has shown the ability to manage CCSD’s budget, and she understands the data necessary to make the right decisions for students. The challenges our next Board of Trustees will face will be unlike anything they’ve seen before. We need President Brook’s steady hand and clear eye at the helm if we are going to successfully navigate the storm to come.

School Board races are often overlooked, in favor of higher profile partisan elections, but make no mistake: in Nevada in 2020, they are some of the most critical decisions voters will have the opportunity to make. That’s why Strategic Horizon is going all-in on the CCSD Board of Trustees races. That’s why we’re all-in to reelect President Lola Brooks in District E. Our future quite literally depends on it.
